UX design (user experience design) focuses on how a product works — the structure, flow and logic that determines how users navigate, complete tasks and achieve their goals. UI design (user interface design) focuses on how a product looks and feels — the visual components, typography, colour, spacing and interactive elements that users see and interact with. The two disciplines are closely connected and most effective when approached together, with UX establishing the foundation that UI design is built on top of.

An interactive prototype is a clickable, navigable version of a product design built in a tool such as Figma. It simulates the experience of using the real product — allowing users to tap, click and move between screens — without any development being required. Prototypes are important because they allow design decisions to be tested and validated before development begins, surfacing usability issues, gathering stakeholder feedback and providing development teams with a clear, tested reference to build from.

UX research establishes a clear picture of who your users are, how they think, what they need and where they struggle with existing products or processes. Starting design without this foundation means making assumptions about user behaviour that may be wrong — leading to products that feel unintuitive, generate support requests or fail to achieve the adoption and conversion rates the business needs. Research conducted before design begins is significantly less expensive than design changes made during or after development.

We design and prototype primarily in Figma, which is the industry standard tool for collaborative UX/UI design. Figma supports wireframing, high fidelity UI design, interactive prototyping, design system development and developer handover all within a single environment. It allows stakeholders to view and comment on designs in real time and gives development teams direct access to specifications, assets and component details without requiring additional export steps.

User testing involves presenting your product or prototype to representative users and observing how they interact with it, where they get confused and whether they can complete key tasks successfully. It provides objective evidence about how the design performs in practice rather than in theory. Issues identified in user testing during the prototyping phase can be resolved at a fraction of the cost of the same changes made after development, making it one of the most commercially effective activities in the entire product design process.

A design system is a documented library of reusable UI components, design tokens, patterns and usage guidelines that ensures visual and functional consistency across a product as it grows. For most digital products beyond a certain scale or complexity, a design system reduces design and development time significantly, improves consistency, makes onboarding new team members faster and ensures the product maintains quality as new features are added over time.

We prepare a comprehensive development handover package that includes all Figma design files, a complete component library, interaction specifications, responsive breakpoint designs, animation notes and exported assets in all required formats. We use Figma Dev Mode to give developers direct access to design specifications, measurements and code snippets. We are also happy to work directly with your development team during the build phase to answer questions and ensure the design is implemented accurately.

Timelines vary depending on the complexity of the product and the scope of the engagement. A focused UX/UI design project for a website or simple digital product typically takes four to eight weeks from discovery to completed designs and prototype. A more complex product such as a web application or multi-platform digital product may take eight to sixteen weeks or more. We will confirm a realistic timeline in your proposal based on the specific scope and requirements of your project.
